The 9th Grassroots Gathering was held in Dublin at the weekend, seventeen workshops, three gender groups, two plenary’s, one speech, one video, one great night drinking, four meals later and we all are totally exhausted yet re-energised.

Report on Grassroots Gathering 7 in Cork, March 2004

Over 100 activists from all over the country and some from abroad converged on Cork to discuss current issues in a non-hierarchical, democratic environment. The purpose of the gathering is to bring together individuals and groups who look forward to a society where people can decide their present and future in a truly democratic manner and who reject the authoritarian organisations of the state, religion and the typical workplace.

The 4th GG in Limerick

The fourth Grassroots Gathering happened at University of Limerick on the St. Patrick's bank holiday weekend. It was a glorious weekend of weather and once again I came away from the experience of meeting fellow activists with renewed vigour for the struggle. The Grassroots Network has succeeded in creating a space for non-hierarchical libertarian groups and individuals to gather and share information and conduct workshops on various tactics used.

Report on the 3rd GG in Belfast October 2003

The third Grassroots Gathering was held in Belfast held over the weekend of October 26th – 27th 2002, it brought together over one hundred grassroots activists, environmentalists, union members, feminists, working people, anarchists, children and other assorted troublemakers from across the island and beyond. There were almost 20 different workshops on a wide variety of topics including Gender, Direct Action, Social Centres, Opposing US Military Use of Shannon Air, Workers Control, Reclaim the Streets, Confronting Sectarianism, and Forest Gardens.

What was probably the 12th Grassroots Gathering took place in Cork this weekend with sessions covering everything from the crisis of capitalism and our response to Energy & food politics. through to Islam and feminism.

Cork Grassroots Gathering - Easter 2002

The second Grassroots Gathering was held over the Easter weekend in Cork. Some seventy people from all over Ireland took part. Areas represented included Cork, Dublin, Limerick and Belfast as well as a scattering of other counties including Kildare, Kerry, Clare and Sligo.

Grassroots Gathering 1 - The Important first Steps - Nov 2001

On the 24th and 25th of November an important event took place called the Grassroots Gathering in Dublin. Individual activists called for this meeting from the following organisations - Irish Mexico Group, Gluaiseacht, Workers Solidarity Movement, Anarcho-Syndicalist Federation, and the Alliance of Cork Anarchists.

Grassroots Gathering 8: Belfast - Oct 22-24 2004

This was the 8th GG & second in Belfast. The organising crew in Belfast decided to make a theme to the gathering. The theme was building safe communities, focusing specifically on addressing gender bias & racism.
